I guess that's a reasonable upgrade wink

Though its non-appointed, there will have been a step one visit to prove the service from the CBT to a fibre from the correct SASA tray in the head end. (Sadly this doesnt always happen correctly)

Ah okay. Will this have likely happened already if my install is Friday? It's all newly laid fibre and there have been 2 OR vans in the street for the past few days.

Spoke to the FTTP team...

The database error which has plagued me since April won't allow the upgrade frown

I would hope so, but theres a fair few combinations of how these things go, so just wait and see.

Whereabouts in the country are you ?

That just needs someone in retail to understand what FTTP is and then allow upgrades

Apparently not.

Woman on phone spoke to supervisor. Both behaved as if they'd never heard of a database error and said they couldn't do anything until it was fixed.

Tweeted to Openreach who said that my ISP needed to escalate it. I replied that BT FTTH High Level Complaints did that two weeks ago. The response to that was that it needs to be escalated further...

In the words of Clarksonius the Philosopher, "how hard can it be?"

Yeah, the only issues we had once FTTP was able to order was on the external visit they found out that all the fibres was in the wrong trays in the splitter node.
This caused build issues due to the fibres at the splitter didn't match their database.

This got me a TAG on my line which they refused to remove, even though the build issues was resolved, I had to keep pestering the CEO and Chairman at BT on a daily bases to get this resolved.

All the above issues added a month or two of a delay to the install, but we was very happy with the compo that we were given smile

A heads up, if you are given an activation date that goes by and you are still waiting for it t obe installed, keep an eye on your bill and your bank, BT are know to start taking money from that date, they took 3 months insted of the 1 when ours went live, we got it all back in credit form so just check.

Overall we am still very happy in the service that we are getting from BT, the only issues I have is BT won't give out static IP's no matter what, even if you are willing to pay for one..
