FTTP today!

So... after long delays (see previous posts), an Openreach engineer is here today to do the internal installation for FTTP.

Nice bloke.

Not the best of starts... hasn't been on the course to use connectorised cable and he hasn't got the kit for it (begging the question why external engineers didn't hand over what they'd used).

Drill battery being recharged due to thickness of walls.

Still, tea is flowing so hopefully in an hour or so we'll be Superfast

Nice and grats.

Hope to see some speed tests once they are done.

Have you already had a visit from an OR engineer to do the outside work?

My install appointment is Friday but it's the only appointment I've got so I'm assuming they'll do it all in one go.

If you get a single date, that's normally when they do the internal work where they need access inside your home, hence the date.

I was given both dates due to I asked for them, this was so that I could tell the engineers where I would like the CSP Box and also the colour of the Box.

With connectorised version can all be just one visit, since its run the cable from the manifold and then once through a hole in the house wall strip off the black outdoor insulation to leave inner, then run to ONT location and strip back to show fibre and fit a mechanical connector and plug in and do light tests once also plugged in at manifold end too.

Yeah, sadly I missed the line where the OP said it was connectorised

Yeah, just read that thread. You've done well to get this far judging by reading that. A lot of wasted OR man hours due to their lack of proper planning. Ah well, at least the end is (hopefully) in sight now.

Though it�s non-appointed, there will have been a �step one� visit to prove the service from the CBT to a fibre from the correct SASA tray in the head end. (Sadly this doesn�t always happen correctly)
