So, can you guys think of any reason, other than a shortage of ports, why a Huawei would have the 384 port extension done?
The cabinet in question is my own node, one of the 2 Huawei 288s has been extended.
It was mentioned to me that it may be due to G.fast being deployed, however that is I believe slaved from the first Huawei cabinet not the second and I'm not sure I see a possible connection.
Virgin Media have moved into the area and it seems strange that 576 ports of VDSL aren't enough, but if that's how it is that's how it is.
Pretty funny remembering the year it took to convince Openreach to enable the cabinet at all. Now at 2 x Huawei 288 + 96 port extension shell on the VDSL side, fed by a PCP with stand-off shell for additional blocks and a G.fast pod attached.
