FTTP install to an outbuilding

Hi All,
A farm up the road from me has native FTTP available to it, and my house has line of sight to the farm outbuildings. In your collective experiences, what are the chances of getting OR to install FTTP, not to the farm house itself, but to one of the farm outbuildings?

Likely that the cable run would be overhead, so is it just a case of, "if it reaches without another pole being put in place", they'll install? If so, what is the maximum span?

I'd like to know before I approach the farm to host my connection I'm fed up of waiting and want to take matters in my own hands!

How far are the farm outbuildings from the main farm house?

Maximum span changes due to a variety of factors. But if you banked on around 50 to 70 meters I reckon you�d be in the right ball park.

How far are you from this outbuilding , might the owners let you dig in a duct between the two ?

I should clarify.

The outbuildings are about 100-150m from the farm house.

There's always the option to install at the farm house and trench/hang our own, but getting OR to do that is better

We are about 1.5Km from the outbuilding.

It's possible yes, although it could potentially serve multiple properties, so PtMP wireless is probably easier.

I assume it does, but you make a good point! Knowing the farmers around here, probably just an armoured cable slung in the ground, duct costs money!

1.5k .... yeah, that stuffs my theory.

100 - 150m from the main farmhouse might prove a stumbling point too. Especially if it�s a connectorised install.

Openreach installed a phone line into a weather proof enclosure outside a commercial building for me so I dont see why they wouldnt install a fibre into a farm building. I'd probably still use a weather proof enclosure for it inside the farm building to avoid dust etc.

Absolute no chance, new connectorized cable is 150m max from the CBT. If it was within a short distance you could of armoured cable cat6 cable from the ONT in the farmers out building but that�s out the window at 1.5km.
