Setting up Draytek router with Zen FTTP?

I have a Draytek 2860n and I would like to use that when we go live with Zen FTTP. I can't find a setup guide so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

Have Zen sent you the set up details for the Fritzbox ? I�ve spoken with Zen CS a couple of times to set one of these up, and it seemed reasonably easy. What are the options on the Draytek ?

No not yet. I assume the details will come when the Fritzbox arrives.

I'm not sure how the options differ to those on the Draytek.

The two I have 'met' required a cal to Zen CS to get the detail.

There's no vpi/vci or vlan type settings, just a straight PPPoE set up, though there was some which if not adjusted looked like they might have capped throughput speeds .....

Thanks. Maybe I will be able to get the details from Zen once it's active. I expect they would prefer users to use their router so it might be a case of trial and error to get the Draytek sorted.

I think that�s a sound idea. I�ll be interested in hearing what settings you finally use for the Draytek.

When I joined Zen a few years ago they sent me all the setup details by email prior to connection day and had no issues with me using my own modem but if you do have any issues with your connection they will most likely ask you to put their provided modem/router on the line to rule out the problem being your own.

That makes sense. I only got the Draytek a few months ago in anticipation of getting fibre and I hadn't decided which ISP to go with. From the comments I have seen on the web Zen seems to be a good choice.

I did have a few issues with my Zen FTTC connection but have always found Zen support responsive and helpful.

I have found Zen to be a very good choice.

And Draytek routers have been a good choice (Zen supplied my first one).

The 2860 was easy to set up on ADSL with same settings on FTTC. Posting on the Zen forum might tell you if the settings ar the same for FTTP.
