Standeford exchange cabinet 10 .
All in one cabinet was installed in July last year Power company connected it up 2 weeks later then openreach men were there the following week migrating all the lines over to the new box so old cabinet is now no longer used! All installed very fast then all of a sudden nothing else has happened since!? It's now 6 months on from completion and the box has still not got to the accepting orders stage!?
I even had a 2nd line installed a few weeks ago (connected to the same new AIO cabinet but neither of the lines can order fibre!?
Code look just keeps putting the date back every 3 months
Does anybody have any inside info as to what is taking so long?

Still in connecting stage, maybe problems getting the fibre to the cabinet
Presume its at the junction of the A5 and A449 or nearby

Yeah just before the roundabout. I saw the openreach men pulling in the black / yellow fibre conduit back in august so that's all in place!!

The conduit maybe, but has the actual fibre being blown through the conduit?
If only needs a few cm of blockage under a road to mean the conduit lengths don't join up and thus needs roadworks.

I thought it would prob be something like that.. I didn't think it would take this long to fix though!

Getting in touch with the local project team is probably best, they might be able to say more.

I did try super fast Staffordshire but it got complicated.
They didn't know what was happening so they contacted openreach themselves. And openreachs reply to superfastStaffordshire was "it's a BDUK project and openreach have no access to it and are unable to get any information on it"
So that's when I gave up..if openreach and superfastStaffordshire don't even know then who will!!

Email me during the working week and will ask, sometimes takes a while to get an answer but invariably do.
The location makes perfect sense for an additional cabinet.

Probably not commissioned yet. Maybe the cabinet delivery process has gone stuck at this point and needs manual intervention to progress.

Thanks both... I will email you during the week! Hopefully you know the right person with an answer

Our AIO cabinet was installed in July/August last year and only went live over Christmas so it can take a while. There was some work done to clear ducts and once it is all ready I believe all the ISPs have to agree a date to swap.
Now getting 80/20 from Pembury exchange - Cabinet 9

Yeah that's what I thought but my lines were swapped over 6 months ago and the fibre checker has been stuck at connection stage since July. The only thing I can think of there is a blocked duct as mentioned above but surely it would of raised Roadworks.org alert by now!?

"me too" - in that the cabinet near me is stuck on "connecting" and well past the due live date listed at codelook (Nov '17) albeit codelook is only a rough estimate. We've had the whole blocked ducts thing done down the road already. BT's DSL checker doesn't list VDSL multicast available so maybe the fibre still hasn't made it to the cab yet. I did see a dome-shaped thingy in a chamber not 40m from the cabinet when an engineer was in there. "Blocked ducts" should be added to the "fibre journey" along with "pulling out of hair" and "un-accepting orders due to whoopsie"
I wonder if we can start a petition to have a "waiting for:" line of text added to openreach checker?
e.g. "waiting for: clearance of blocked ducts" or going right out on a limb like a madman here: "waiting for: clearance of blocked ducts due dd/mm/yy, last updated dd/mm/yy"
I bet that would stop a ton of emails to openreach CEO and give us actual hope! It's not like it would be sensitive information, surely?
I've tried bribing openreach engineers with tea and biscuits but they politely decline so I've resorted to chucking buckets of tea into the chambers to keep the fibre warm

A point on more detail for the public was something I made to Openreach two weeks ago

Well I sent an email to the openreach CEO who delegated it down the ranks and today the cabinet went live at last.
