Every area with an aggregation node could count as a quick win, and there are many thousands of those, so I'd not bolster the idea at all.

Wouldnt it depend how the works for the new estate are planned? Would it use a new aggregation node for the new estate if large, or if an existing one does the route either include extra splitter nodes or provision to add them without disrupting live fibres?

Depends on the number of premises involved and how many any existing aggregation node is expected to cover

No problem. I thought that might be the case. FTTC is doing ok for us at the moment (only 100m) from cabinet, but would go for FTTP if it was available.

As youre already capable of getting around 80 Mbps on FTTC then the chances of Openreach deploying commercial FTTP to you ( in the near future) is close to zero. Purely because not many punters would opt for the higher speed tiers on FTTP when theyre already getting excellent speeds on FTTC. Of course if youre happy to pay £1000s then FTTP On Demand may be an option for you

Seems to me Openreach have gone cool on g.fast, if the area is similar to mine and they want to compete with Virgin Media the options are either g.fast (would require reshelling 1950s cast iron PCP, wasted investment if it will end up as FTTP in the long term anyway) or FTTP, my cabinet is on the edge of town and serves some outlying rural areas too - it appears some of these are due FTTP due to poor/no FTTC - Id think that makes it more likely any upgrade on the services offered to the general cabinet area to be FTTP rather than g.fast.
