I will be moving home, but only by a few streets, and I plan to transfer my BT FTTC service to the new property.
I've verified both properties are connected to the same cabinet Cabinet 60, Crouch End. However, Openreach says "demand is high on your cabinet right now" and BT etc... are only quoting for ASDL connections.
When I transfer my service, will I find myself on the waiting list or do I get "special treatment" because I'm already connected to the cabinet?
Also, does anybody know if work is planned to add capacity?
Thanks in advance!

I suspected that would be the answer. Oh well, I've been very fortunate with broadband speeds so I can't complain.
Thanks for the help.

I have a feeling BT are about the only ISP that puts customers on the waiting list. Though perhaps that also applies to Plusnet and EE now. At least it may not be for too long.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. 200GB. Sync 76102/14089Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

I had a similar cabinet capacity issue when I first moved to a new area, I ended up writing a script that checked the OpenReach "when and where" API every 5 minutes to pick up someone ceasing their FTTC and sent me a text with a link to the order page - took about 4 days before I managed to nab a spot!

Capacity should be available again within a week or 2

Oh! Can I have a copy please? I'm in the same situation, cabinet at capacity. There's a wee drink in it for you if it gets me a slot in four days!

Any chance you can do another ISP, e.g. Zen?
BT are atrocious and their equipment bad.

If issue is a full Openreach cabinet it will make no difference unless Virgin Media or another provider who does not use Openreach local loop is available
