Parents are looking at getting broadband from NowTV as it's cheap and has a no contract option (since they are moving house in the next few months and don't want to be stuck in a contract).
What I am trying to find out is exactly what router they provide, and whether it can be set to work in modem only or bridge mode so that we can use our own router behind it (which has the ability to run a vpn). Otherwise they will have to buy a router that can handle the modem side as well (but they won't know whether their new place is going to only have 17mb adsl, or whether it will have FTTC, so buying a router with modem built in could be a waste of money).
Basically they want to be able to run a vpn on a router, with a new isp that is cheap and has 1 month contracts. Not bothered if its adsl or FTTC.
