New connection - dead

[link to this post]

I recently ordered BT Infinity at my new property and yesterday I had an email saying everything is now activated and ready to use.

My router will not sync and the phoneline is completely dead. I have tried the test socket, still nothing.

BT have raised a fault with Openreach.

Any idea what the problem could be? There used to be a service on the line, just think it was standard ADSL.

BT have said it should be resolved in 2 days.

Did the line have dial tone before this week?

If no dial tone, then either not connected to kit providing broadband and phone or there is something wrong with the wiring in the home.

There will have been some cock up somewhere, the lines records not being correct or the like. So your new service is currently misrouted.

You should, hopefully, get a call from an engineer when they get issued the task, let them know this is a failed line start, there used to be a dial tone, but now nothing. The most helpful thing would be if you can provide access .... but Im aware thats not always possible.
