We're so far at 11 months of our FTTPoD installation and I think we're now approaching the end! BT today came and installed these on two poles about 1km apart. Is this a new fibre manifold? I can't find any pictures on google of this particular unit?

Thanks, that's strange! I wonder what it is then...! The fibre cable is definitely the one running into it. As we just have the fibre from the pole to the house to go, I wondered whether this was it but if it's not that I guess there is some work to go!

Yep, look like track nodes. Joints en route to somewhere.

I see, I guess there's still a bit to go then before we're finally connected. Thanks for clarifying.

The last pole to the property will get a manifold on it, and actually connecting your home to this only happens when you order the service and pick what speed/price you want to pay

This is the last pole which is why I thought it may be the manifold. I guess the manifold therefore is added when OR come and connect the house to it. This is the DP for the 6 buildings in our rural hamlet. The service was all ordered last October so hopefully that will happen soon!

The manifold is added prior to you ordering the service on a normal FTTP build, but as this is Fibre on Demand you have already ordered service so things may be a bit different.
There is a chance that this build is for some FTTP further down the road.

Picture2: There's a small CBT on the opposite side of the pole to the copper DP - you can see it if you enlarge the photo

In fact, you can see the small (4 port?) CBT in both photos.

Apologies, yes there is, a little 4 port jobbie.

So there is, my mistake for looking when on a small screen

Aha! I didn't think that was it as it was so small so didn't worry that it wasn't in the picture! That's good news for us then, hopefully a connection date is imminent.
I am actually really surprised that OR have only installed a (4 port?) one considering that there are 6 houses and they could have in theory enabled all of them for FTTP under just our order.
Interestingly, we had a quote under the Community Fibre Partnership for the whole hamlet which came in at £27k and the neighbours didn't bite, despite us being willing to contribute over half. Our FTTPoD order came in at around £10k when allowing for the 3 years line rental (under the old pricing) and up front costs.
I would have thought that after running a fibre cable 800m under an A road with civils work to dig it up, then a further 800m over poles (including a water crossing), OR would have realised that they've done most of the work and could at least do the whole hamlet seeing as this is the only path to the area phone line wise. Of course, I don't think OR think that logically about these things and they may be watching the spend after massively under-quoting us based on the works they have done...

Under the old FTTPod system your neighbors on the same DP do not get WBC FTTP enabled.
AIUI the 4 port DP is the smallest. This may just be for you.
The other 4 port DP may be unrelated to your order.
No idea if OpenReach changed their stance on activating neighbours from older orders that are only just activating now but you would be the 1st I've seen this on.
Edit: auto correct mistake

I see. That seems like a very illogical business move for Openreach..! Perhaps as you say they'll chance their stance on activating neighbours in the future.
Thanks all for your help!
