Sky to finally sell Openreach FTTP (& G.Fast)

Sky are at last going to sell Openreach's FTTP (& G.Fast) services, according to an article in today's Daily Telegraph:

Likely good news for those who like to flip-flop between suppliers every 18mo to take advantage of best offers and say, live in a new build with FTTP only.

Sounds good. TalkTalk will probably have to follow as well when Sky sales figures start coming out.

I don't fancy paying the Torygraph to read their articles.

edit: or giving them my details, looks like it's free. Just stick up ads like anyone else.

BTW, Talktalk are already selling G.fast (although it seems you can't order it online - you have to phone)

TalkTalk also plan to roll out a nationwide FTTP network in partnership with others, though at present details are thin. I guess this decreases the chances of TT offering their services over Openreach FTTP.

Will be fascinating to see if Sky also offer their tv services purely over FTTP. My guess is yes they will but probably at least a decade away before we can bin those ugly Sky dishes smile

That was misreporting by the press.

Sky on their own forum have confirmed there are no plans to scrap Sky via satellite. The dishless version of Sky Q is aimed at those where it is not possible to have a dish installed such as in conservation areas.

Biggest broadband news of the year. Now there are two serious players on the Openreach platform. Lessens the risk of fibre bubble.
