I recently replace my BT Modem & Apple Airport Extreme with a Fritz!Box 7590
It is still connecting at maximum for my line, 40,000Kbps, but my graph now has a low background dropped packet ripple

The Fritz!Box says there are no errors locally and less that 0.01 per min at the exchange, so I don't understand what the dropped packets on the graph are and how to get rid of them
Any help most welcome

I can�t help with the dropped packet question, sorry, but your sig is set from �My Home� in the top menu, scroll to the bottom of that page, click �Personal info etc� and it�s on that page.

The DSL can behave 100% and you still have packet loss, i.e. the BQM tool is not located at the exchange, but has a chunk of Internet between you and it.
Have you confirmed that the packet is loss is present by doing some pinging from your end? Reason being that in the past some have seen packet loss on Frizbox devices due to the router ignoring some BQM pings, i.e. may be false packet loss.

I have owned a 7390, 7490 and now a 7590 (since March), and I have long given up with TBB graphing as the 7590 doesn't play nicely with it. I have had what you are seeing and worse. I have engaged with AVM and sent them full diagnostic test data and their response has always been that there is nothing showing in the test data that they are receiving.
In fairness to AVM, they are probably right. I am currently with AAISP and their graphing is showing that my 7590 is working well - albeit, two nights ago, interleaving kicked in and my down speed dropped by 10.

Hi, yes that sort of makes sense as I would have though that any real dropped packet would cause my speed to drop (DLM) and it hasn't although I do get a few more low speed tests on my SamKnows white box and the Fritz firmware updated last night which has increased the ripple on the TBB graph.

Well that's the thing, as I said in my original post, the Fritz!Box is saying zero errors and only 0.1 errors per min at the exchange, it is only the TBB graph that is showing the ripple of dropped packets ?

It is worth bearing in mind that the error count on F!Bs doesn�t cover everything. You can see that interleaving has kicked in from the upper settings. AVM dropped the recording of these errors on the basis that it was just the router doing what it is designed to do.

It also does it with the Fritz!Box 4040 Router where after 10 days it would start to show huge packet loss on the BQM, however I wasn't seeing any issues online.
AVM were quick to respond sadly this was never resolved, so I moved from that to a Linksys WRT 3200 ACM and it now looks fine.

And the fritzbox is reporting for the xDSL segment, NOT the TCPIP layer.
i.e. you can have zero errors over the xDSL but lots of errors over the TCPIP in terms of dropped packets.
