Cabinet 51 - Cherry Hinton Exchange (EACRH)

[link to this post]

Hi,

I have a relative living in rented premises served by Cab 51 on EACRH Exchange in Cambridge. the exchange has been FTTC enabled since mid 2012, and of the adjacent cabinets to 51, 5 & 35 went live at that time and 36 went live in January 2016.

Openreach website says that for this cabinet they are only at the 'exploring solutions' stage and refer to 'working with industry and government'.

The area is close to the centre of Cambridge City and so is probably beyond the scope of the local BDUK programme - Connecting Cambridgeshire.

Does anyone know, or know how I can find out, what's (not) going on with this Cabinet.

Thank in advance for any help/info.

Hi,

Usually the CodeLook website lists the status of the cabinets at: http://www.telecom-tariffs.co.uk/codelook.htm

ISP: PlusNet: Downstream rate = 79999 Kbps - Upstream rate = 19999 Kbps. Ping: 11ms.
Line Stats: Line attenuation Down: 7.8db Up: 8.7db

Stechford (CMSTE) Cab 24 - Funded Privately (Community Partnership).

Birmingham Fibre First Program: FTTP (CBT) installed on poles.

I imagine OP already looked there: https://www.telecom-tariffs.co.uk/codelook.htm?xid=2...

It just says "Openreach fibre not available". Hence the question.

Thanks for the responses.

I had already researched on Codelook - but went in again and discovered that several Cabinets/Postcodes within Cambridge City had been treated by BDUK Connecting Cambridgeshire as 'in scope'.

Their website confirms that the postcode and cabinet in question are also in their scope - but that they haven't got a solution yet.

There's no indication what the problem is. The majority of the affected premises are in a 10 year old development of flats and town houses.

Thanks again for responding.

Ongoing developments can be difficult for BDUK project funding, i.e. market reviews are only done every few years so may have missed out on a previous OMR
