I am on a rural exchange, but back in March last year a new Fibre cabinet was deployed near where I live. By April 2018 it had power (you could hear the fans and it humming) and around that time my EO line got switched to that cabinet (it is an all-in-one cabinet).
Since April though the "When Can I get Fibre" page has been at the "Connect" stage with the below message:
We're connecting power to the new fibre cabinet and joining the new fibre lines to the existing copper network.
You can't order a fibre service today but typically it'll be available to your premises within the next four months.
The BT Broadband Availability checker says: WBC FTTC Availability Date: Planned
Nothing seems to have progressed since then. The cabinet is still humming away and you can hear the fans when you put your ear to the vents.
The route from the exchange to the cabinet is via underground duct, but there has been no roadworks or such by BT to fix any collapsed or blocked ducts so I doubt it is that.
Does anyone know who I can contact to find out more information? I have the exchange, cabinet number and a selection of phone numbers that run through it if that would help.
Thanks
Marcus
