Faulty Line Help Please! :: Fibre Broadband

I hope you're all well.

I would like your opinion on my line. On 27th December, our line (both telephone and broadband) went completely dead, before coming back up shortly after at a much lower speed. Then, the dreaded crackles started on the landline.

To cut a long story short, an engineer found that all of the pairs in the cable had broken, so had to put a brand new copper line up just for our property (about 1/2 of the total length to the cabinet was renewed). Now, even though the voice has been fixed, our line speed has dropped from 55/8 to 35/3; a huge drop! Unfortunately, because our line is syncing within the acceptable limits (well downstream is not upstream), they won't replace the rest of the cable until April, which I think is where the other fault is, that's causing the slow sync speed.

The line is stable, in the fact that it's not loosing sync, but the errors aren't great (even though still within acceptable limits). The amount of constant G.INP re-transmissions and LEFTRS are quite concerning, too.
