Interesting things popping up on roadworks.org

[link to this post]

A whole stack of the telecoms roadworks symbols have appeared over a neighbouring village on roadworks.org.

https://imgur.com/a/CIiyl9j

Nearly all of the notices are the same, something about PON (which I know is passive optical network) and the length of duct. They are all set for this month, some going into next.

Is it safe to assume FTTP is on its way there, given how many are dotted around in the village? It's not every road which I found odd but may the other roads either already have it or it's coming later.

How do you "erect a cable"? (Dictionary - Put together and set upright).

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Good luck to you both though, looks like progress.

Certainly looks like it smile

Worth noting that Openreach are working to a March 2020 deadline so you may have sometime to wait although any progress is positive.

Same here, Roadworks.org suddenly looked like it had developed measles in this part of the world. Unfortunately the dates came and went with no traffic lights and no apparent action. A week or so later two new entries appeared for early March with "desilt" in them, as well as "fibre". I would guess that the work was abandoned quite quickly when the ducts were found to be blocked. There was also some mention in the abandoned work of "overhead fibre" so I have my fingers crossed that FTTP migh be on its way.

Three of the roadworks.org entries in the village I showed are active right now. Next time I'm passing I'll have to take a look down some of the streets to see if there is any actual activity. I did actually pass one of that village's street cabs today and an Openreach guy was messing around in the cab. Passed again roughly 3 hours later and he was still there - seems to be something more than just a customer connection.

Ever hopeful. smile

Seeing an engineer in the cabinet won't help with FTTP.
They don't touch the cabinet for FTTP.
