BT checker says I have FTTP, BT support say no

[link to this post]

After a long wait for FTTP to come to my address in Exeter, both the Openreach and BT websites said it is now available to order. I clicked on "order now" only to be told to call BT customer services. They told me me, no, it's not available to you yet. (Postcode is EX4 2PN).

Anyone had this experience?

I have had this issue with BT, TBH I would just phone them up to make the order, their automated system might be broken, it does happen.

I did some checks and I can see its available for door numbers 1 to 14 of that postcode, I have checked on the BT Wholesale Checker along with the BTOR Where and when Page, both say its available.

So like I said I would just phone BT up and try to order over the phone, that way if any issues pop up they might be able to work around it.

BT Retail website says it is available, have you tried ordering through the website without talking to someone?

Looks like FibreFirst - and presence of FTTC does confuse some people

Called BT this morning. They still said FTTP wasn't available to me yet. I insisted they double checked. They transferred me to someone else who agreed that it should be available but that their line checker said it wasn't. They transferred me to a third person who took my order and it's due to be installed at the end of this month.
It seems persistence pays off.

I tried the BT Retail line checker yesterday (the one that is online) and its available and offering Ultrafast packages to me.

Have you tried upgrading/ordering via their online portal.

What service speed are you trying to order?

Did you get teh name of te person who did teh digging and accepted your order? If so, when all is complete and working, an email to BT - the CEO maybe, saying hoiw well that person did, will always go down well.

My experience is that you can usually order fttp long before its on the checker (but the work is done) there seems a lag on the checker.
