How can I find out when fibre will arrive at TIMSGARRY exchange? Its in Scotland so I assume the R100 (?) scheme will cover the area by 2020 (?). A check on the phone number lists the exchange but no cabinet number...
Thanks!

Though as no R100 contracts are signed yet, if going to be part of that rollout no one will have any idea what is happening yet

The subject title and the quoted comment sounds like you are assuming R100 will bring fibre by 2020.
Is that your assumption?

A check on the phone number lists the exchange but no cabinet number... On the mainland that means your line is fed direct from the exchange. (An EO line).
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up. BQM

True, no-one can predict anything yet wrt R100 however the Highlands & Islands BDUK rollout is still continuing so best to ask HIE first as they are the designated BDUK authority and tend to be very helpful from my own experience.

Based on the fact that lots of other small locations have fibre its not a bad assumption to make. But then again I know R100 isn't just about fibre cables and there is already a wireless service and fairly good 4G parts in the area.

Yes, these little 'exchanges' are no more than the size of a mainland garden shed. More like supersized cabinets. Perhaps they are some kind of hybrid?

If that wireless service is delivering 30 Mbps or more then R100 will not be coming to you

4 Mbps I think is the maximum. And that's £40!
