The 'joys' of neigbours on dodgey fibre!

[link to this post]

So this morning we had a neighbour attempting to gain entry to our property, turns out he wanted to 'have a go' about the tree in our front garden that had "broken his fibre connection", as I was trying to placate him gf came out and it got a bit heated with him leaving saying "BT will be cutting that tree down on Monday".
Anyway a few hours later I notice a OR van parked outside our other neighbours house who also has BT FTTP, on discussion with engineer he was investigating as several houses in village have lost internet. When I questioned him over the tree his reply was "No problems with that tree, we told him when we connected the fibre it was tree proof". Seems that the houses with (BT) fibre have lost internet, still at least the first neighbour did apologise.

Tree proof fibre ? Yeah, right.

Talking out of his duct 56 I reckon.

I think 'tree resistant' would be more accurate, but at least it kept him quiet.

Gosh, some people really do think they own the world don't they. It must have been hard to stay calm with such an idiot.

My neighbour put an edge cutting tool through my Virgin Media cable (by accident). It took 3 days to get Virgin out and did I go out kicking off - nope, poop happens. My neighbour would have cut his own suppy off too but it looks like his was burried properly in protective ducting and mine was a directly laid 2cm bodge job.

The entitlement generation seems to be getting worse.

I wonder what made him automatically jump to the conclusion that it was your tree, has he previously moaned about the tree and just wants to pin something on it to justify its removal.

Our houses are surrounded by trees, of all of these that particular tree has little or no impact on him apart from it touching the cable going across our front garden to his house. Some branches where cut from other trees to clear the previous copper (and this fibre) cable but OR said that tree wasn't a problem. I have no problem with cutting any of the other trees but that one would have a major impact on the tree.

Lets hope he has learnt from his unnecessary outburst that he shouldn't jump to conclusions in the future smile
