You might want to omit your email address from that snippet.
Done, thank you.

We are both on the same cabinet and as far as I am aware, both would be from the same node. I'm sure you're aware FTTP doesn't go via a street cabinet (I only say this as others will).
Secondly you say you're on the same node do you mean agg node or same 32 way splitter node? I am only an amateur but would think that if you're on the same 32 way splitter node as your friend then you would be on the fibre to the exchange as your friend so would be on the same OLT as your friend and should be able to get the same max speed as your friend but that's not the case if your just on the same agg node as you may then be on a different OLT and max speed may be different for those OLT's
Caveat: I may be talking garbage.
Edit: If I'm wrong hopefully an expert will correct me. Those pretending to be experts need not apply
Thanks to you (and all the other posters who have replied - cant work out how to multi quote without a load of copying and pasting ).
After reading a few other posts on the forum, i guess it is likely he could have an agg node closer as his goes overhead from the cab, and ours is underground all the way.

this was the last email I got from Openreach on 22nd August. Is it worth considering sending a follow up email to Richard Powley as its now been several months since his last email and even if there is no news it may trigger something somewhere.

When database records are being updated, they are changed from 330/30 to 1000/220 (unless on Huawei kit).
Think you mean unless on ECI kit - it should be updated to 1000/220 if there is Huawei kit on the back end in the exchange.

Ah thats interesting as the local cabinet area had a new cabinet installed a year or two ago and it was a Huawei, and we are on an ECI.
Does that mean the exchange equipment is matched to the cabinet?

Does that mean the exchange equipment is matched to the cabinet? I've been told that if the FTTC cabinet is an ECI then the OLT in the exchange will also be an ECI, the same goes for Huawei connected to Huawei. The benefit of this is to allow the proprietary functionality (e.g. diagnostics) to work.
