Look like FTTP DPs to me.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Correct Bob, the proper name is CBT connectorised block terminal.

Just upside down, looks like temporarily strapped to pole ready for proper mounting at the pole top. Should see FTTP for properties fed by that pole in the hopefully near future.

Yes I thought it looked upside down, compared to the many I have seen in Cornwall. But wasnt sure enough to say so.

That explains the considerable loops of cable above it as well. That worried me too, but youve just explained it smile.

I have watched them working on these in a fibre first area.

There is enough cable for them to lower the CBT quite low so that they don't have to work at height to do all the connecting.. When everything is connected up they hoist it to the top and fix it to the pole. Removes the safety issues of trying to complete a complex job up a ladder and consequentially speeds it up quite significantly. .I was impressed by the speed they worked down the street, (Barden Network engineering), team of two plus a quality controller who talked to me while they did the work on one pole. Other 2 person teams were pulling the fibre in further down the street and connecting at joint boxes. ( Lift out fibre trays with, I presume, splitters)

Final customer connections are done at the pole top when they are ordered.

MrSaffron can you confirm NILDW (This is around BT47 6 ) area is due for FTTP? any checkers i've checked say no scope.

We dont have plans to upgrade your area yet. Tell us youre interested and well update you when things change. (For most of the areas i've noticed the pods)
