How to get faster FTTC after migration to a new Cabinet?

We have just been connected to a new FTTC cabinet 21 on the Woburn Sands exchange. We were on cabinet 18 at about 1.5 kms and are now on Cabinet 21 which is (only) 700 metres away. Our lines were exchange only lines and the new cabinet is, apparently, a AIO type (All In One). Lots of residents have already got FTTC contracts and it seems that since the migration, there is no intention to enable the better speeds now available for existing FTTC customers - only for customers who upgrade from ADSL Or am I being a tad pessimistic?

Presently we are syncing at around 24/1Mbps but the BTWholesale checker suggests that 50/10 Mbps may be possible.

How can we get the companies to re-profile/DLM reset our connections if that is all that is needed? Apologies if this is not the correct terminology...

If you were connected to cabinet 18 previously you were not an exchange only line. So am a bit confused over the cabinet 18 and 21.

Cabinet 21 does appear to be a new cabinet

It looks like from a peek at our mapping, you are on cabinet 18 currently with VDSL2/FTTC and new infill All in one cabinet has been deployed cabinet 21. This cabinet 21 if closer should give better FTTC speeds.

The bit you need to wait for is the live to live migration to happen, i.e. at some point in time all the lines will be moved from cabinet 18 to cabinet 21, there is nothing for you to do assuming you have VDSL2/FTTC already.

A lot depends on exactly where you are, as they will be some people left on the old cabinet 18, and it may be you are on the border between the old 18 area and new 21 area.

OK..we were on EO lines before they installed CABs 18 and 19 just outside the fence of the exchange a couple of years ago...we are listed as now being on CAB 21 as we are about 700 metres beyond it. We are being told by our BDUK contact that 21 is now live and the L2L migration has taken place. The BTwholesale checker shows that our line is already live on this new cabinet but without being reprofiled we are not getting any benefit of this investment by OR and the Council...

Are you able to get any stats from your current router ? Attenuation, SNR, actual and theoretical sync rates .... this kind of info might provide some insight.

Are you connected to your master socket, possibly via a built in filter ... if not, could you describe your current set up please ?

Yep, I�d agree that looks, from your description, like your original stats.

Can you not jump through whatever steps BT Retail request and have them book a broadband boost task from Openreach ?

Also check with neighbours to see if anyone else has had improved speeds.

If no-one has then likely the live to live was booked for a specific date but failed to happen for some reason. e.g. staff called away to deal with a loss of service somewhere maybe.

I think this implies you are on ADSL (upto 24megabit). You would need to upgrade to a "Fibre" service with your ISP.

Think you may be confusing that with G.992.5 (which is ADSL2+). The stats quoted are for VDSL/G.993.2
