Cabinet on exchange not FTTC enabled - anything I can do?

[link to this post]

Hello, I hope this isn't a question that is asked here endlessly to no avail.

I've discovered that our street cabinet, P48 on the Chorlton Exchange in Manchester isn't FTTC enabled. The exchange is, and most cabinets around here have been for some time, one of the first in Manchester IIRC

According to openreach there's no plan to upgrade it, I've tried emailing them and had just got fobbed off with the same information from their website ('We are working with government...' etc)

Is there anything I can do other than wait to see if openreach decide to finally upgrade it? The cabinet itself is on a grass verge a few hundred m.

There's not a lot you can do.

You can wait for OpenReach to upgrade it to FTTC or for them to roll out FTTP.

You can wait for public funding to bring OpenReach FTTP or similar from another provider.

You can join together with other local residents and contribute towards FTTC or FTTP from OpenReach with a Community Fibre Partnership (CFP).

4G broadband from three may be an option, being in a city you should get good reception. They do unlimited data packages too.

Three and Vodafone currently. O2 and EE do not.
