Openreach Upgrades

[link to this post]

Is there any way of finding out if my line will soon be upgraded to support a faster connection, like FttP and/or g.fast?

I currently have FttC and as I'm located a good distance from the serving cabinet,
my speeds are not great, especially the upload which is 3.5Mb approx.

Thanks in advance.

If you then give us your cabinet number and exchange someone might be able to provide more information. But upgrades tend to happen as/when/if openreach feel like it. Those in the know who have a more precise idea are often not allowed to tell or else avoid doing so because it results in them being pestered by people wanting to know.

If you’re a good distance from your cabinet, g.fast is not going to help you.

What's a p!sstake!? no one has a right to full fibre.

Have you considered getting a quote? if 8 doors along they have full fibre, the infrastructure can't be too far away.

8 doors away and in your position I would be getting a quote real sharp.

I would agree with that too. I thought Cornwall had full fibre - just checking with the https://www.superfastcornwall.org it seems not

A quote for fttpod? How would I go about that? It does seem odd as to why BTO stopped works where they did....

The Superfast Cornwall project, in my view, was nothing but a let down....
