PON light flashing intermittently on ONT broadband dropping

I recently moved into a new build property (FTTP) and have been using my broadband for about a week. The problem i am having is the network keeps dropping out, when it does this the PON light flashes and the LOS light is still off.

The strange thing about it is it appears to be happening at a similar time each day, not sure exactly as i wake up and it isn't working and seems to kick in by about 11AM each day. at first it was more sporadic and happened all times in the day but there is now a definite pattern.

I have spoken to my service provider who was a little unsure on what could be causing the issue. They are sending an engineer out but hinted it may be an issue if he cant replicate the problem.

I was just wondering if anyone had come across this before as i cant seem to find any info on it dropping in and out like this.

I would imagine FTTP faults are easier to find than the old copper/fttc ones.

What about video'ing it when it happens then you can show the engineer the video?

A year or two ago I had a total loss of service where the PON light was constantly flashing. When the Openreach engineer came out, he followed the FTTP infrastructure back to the terminating exchange checking for faults. He didn't find anything wrong with the actual cabling but as a last resort, he re-configured the line at the exchange and the service came back to life. I imagine the Engineer visiting you will follow a similar troubleshooting procedure, starting with a light test at the ONT.

Thanks for the reassurance, its good to know it has happened to others before. Both of your responses give me a little more confidence in knowing it wont keep dropping out forever!
