FTTP or not FTTP that is the question..

[link to this post]

OK fttc available line is cack & long get 9mbps down & 0.2Mbps up with loads of errors & was unusable so cancelled it.

Contacted BDUK group told me they were aware & FTTP was being funded & contracts had been signed with Openreach.

Checked our poles every other one has a CBT on it with spools of fibre hanging off foot pegs.

Contacted openreach on twitter told no fibre until 2021.

Contacted ceo office & told no plans at all never have been, commercial or BDUK. No answer when I asked why there are multiple CBT's on the poles (not connected up), plus little signs on the poles saying fibre overhead etc.

It's bizarre no one seems to be able to answer what they're actually doing. I don't care if it's x months away I'd just like to know if it's ever gonna actually happen.

More often than not an stuck indoors & I'd just like reliable broadband (I know 1st world problems etc)

If your local BDUK have a contract with Openreach then there will be timescales attached to that contract as well (They do slip but are an indicator). Try contacting the BDUK team again and ask for more info about timescales.

Thanks for the suggestion, yeah I did that Monday am waiting their reply it's just worrying that the guys responsible for doing it don't seem to know they're doing it even though half the job is done, lol just bizarre.

BDUK originally said by March this year but it's getting closer & Openreach don't even appear to know they should be doing it. I'm wondering if it was paid for & arranged & they've since found a problem that's pushed it over budget so they've canned it.

Roadworks.org had BT booked swarming the village installing fibre last Oct but that never happened...

There are a number of forum members who have had fibre hanging from their poles for years because of one thing or another.

Hoping that's less of the case here because it's not just a commercial install we literally don't have anything else.

Just weird that openreach don't even seem to know they've put CBT's in pmsl couldn't make it up.

The presence of the manifolds may not have moved up the paper chain to the point of being visible to the people you've talked to

I have posted before about my experiences, OR and BDUK both said no FTTP, even though the fibre was being installed.
