I have been getting slow speed test results for a while especially with the TBB and speed of me tests which rarely gave speeds over 40 Mbps even though i am now on 80/20 FTTC, the AAISP and Ookla tests always gave much higher results, i got a new PC today and all tests are showing high results (see TBB test result below) has anyone any idea why the old PC was giving different results depending on which site i used?

Some of the speedtest sites use Flash and are very CPU-intensive. speedtest.net even shows animated adverts at the same time as your speedtest is running.

Could be as simple as a faulty network driver. Is that WiFi or Ethernet ?

VirginMedia 200/20 (22 Nov 19). Was FTTC for 7 years (55/12 to 46/5)
20 years of broadband connectivity since 1999 trial - Live BQM
