Hi all,
I've been driving around my hometown and spotting a lot of G.Fast pods being fitted to PCP's, seen about 3 so far.
I thought that G.Fast had been put on the back burner? Or are signed off areas still getting it?
Would be good to know some pro's thoughts!

If your area got G.fast pod addition mean you won't be getting Openreach FTTP in future. Bad news really.

They are probably are not g.Fast but VDSL dslam pods.

Not necessarily. For example, there is a Fibre First build currently in progress on the outskirts of Derby, which includes areas already covered by G.Fast. Tunbridge Wells has a load of G.Fast but is also planned for Fibre First.

Very much not true, mixed mode is common in the Fibre First roll-out.
Some properties do see the G.fast option vanish even though in range, and a small number end up with both G.fast and FTTP options.

AFAIK, there is no g.fast due in Canterbury

Correct theyve now started fitting VDSL equipment in these pods not just G.Fast. So could just been incremental expansion of FTTC ports.

That would make sense, they seem to be sited where VDSL lines are on Waiting List status. Good to know, cheers!
