FTTP 500 & 1Gb

[link to this post]

Anyone heard of the prices of these new packages as yet.

I heard it was late March when they were announcing the new 500 and 1Gb tiers but sometimes it gets leaked beforehand.

Thank you. smile

Wholesale pricing has been released but don't think that any of the resellers have yet published theirs.

No, however if the wholesale pricing is indicative and there are no special offers run you're looking at 3 figures for 1G.

Building better networks, not just faster ones.

Apparently BT are doing trials with some people. Not sure how you ever get in these trials.

Hi

We have carried the 500Mbps & 1Gbps products for some time now. Details are here: https://www.cerberusnetworks.co.uk/node/183#cerberus...

Please note that Openreach need to fit XPON equipment for these speeds.Their time, travel and materials cost is covered in the activation fee for this to take place.

I think the OP refers to the new 550/75 and 1000/110 products, at hopefully more consumer-friendly prices.

I had a conversation with someone at Cerberus Networks recently, on the sales team, to enquire about whether they'd be selling the upcoming FTTP packages (550/75 and 1000/115). My FTTPoD contract's minimum term is nearly up. They told me that they will be selling them but the pricing isn't known yet as they are waiting on 'commercials' from BT Wholesale apparently (expecting them imminently).

I asked if it was possible to regrade to 330/50 (FTTP Pro) in the meantime and then upgrade if the offers for the upcoming FTTP packages are within the realms of what I'm looking for, but unfortunately it seems I must pay off the remainder of the new contract (being FTTP Pro at 330/50) if I want to upgrade to a higher speed FTTP package. In that case I figured that it's best if I wait on FTTPoD beyond the minimum term for another month or two, by which time the newer packages should hopefully be listed on the website. From what I gather from the conversation I had, April looks like the earliest to expect the upcoming FTTP packages to be listed.

I was tempted by 500/165 but I feel that the monthly pricing is a little too rich for my blood, also when adding on the extra monthly charge for the IPv4 block address allocation. The greatly increased upload speed would be nice, but yeah.

Is there room in your boat for me? Show me as +1 on that. Waiting on new prices.

FTTPoD is up in a few days, looked at FTTP Pro £71.50+VAT & FTTP XL £140+VAT (stares blankly - double price for not double).

Or Zen (already have phone line)
Domestic is showing £59.99 inc VAT so only £49pm
Business Full Fibre 4 £70pm inc Critical Care.
Both at 330/50

Hurry up already. <Get someone young to stick laughing face here>
