FTTP Newcastle - When?

[link to this post]

I am looking at Openreach website and I am in the highlighted area for FTTP building in progress for Newcastle Upon Tyne.. Curious if anyone might have any idea how likely it will be before I can place an order for FTTP?

I am moving to Zen broadband on the 29th and would be nice to possibly upgrade to ultrafast once its available.

Could be a month or could be a year.

Ouch, I waited 5+ years being told its not available, even though I could see the hardware already in place.

BT just needs a little nudge in the right direction and contacting the CEO and Chairman's office along with our local MP helped us get fibre.

Sent an email to Clive Selley over a year ago Paul and to be fair I receive regular updates on the progress (or lack of it)
So close to the finishing line but COVID-19 halted things.

Been told we should be completed by June 3rd but I won't be holding my breath.

Dear Mr ********

I hope you and your family are staying safe and well.
I have just had from the delivery manager dealing with the necessary work, sadly it isn’t great news.
As well as having to replace the dangerous pole, she advises that there are also blockages in a duct which will also need to be cleared. Unfortunately to clear the blockages will require a road closure. The road closure has been booked for as soon as possible and this work is due to be completed between the 14th-28th May. Build in full is due to be completed by the 3rd June.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the further delay. I will continue monitor and will contact you again just before the road closure is due to confirm that this is still on track.

Kind regards
Richard
