FTTP available but can't order?

[link to this post]

Hi
Out of the blue this morning I had an email from Connected Counties (who manage the local BDUK rollout) saying FTTP was now available for my address.

When I check the Openreach checker it does confirm that this is the case. However, when I try an ISP with the same details it still just shows ADSL.

I'm guessing they have not caught up - does anyone know how long this usually takes?

Thanks
Huw

Openreach aren’t doing FTTP installs until 1/06/20 at the earliest, and there is already a backlog of work. This is due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I believe that for this reason some FTTP ISP’s are not allowing orders.

Thanks - I spoke to BT and they confirmed it was due to them not taking orders.

I've found Aquiss are taking orders but they only do up to 150Mbps.

Are any others taking orders? I've like to get mine in the queue smile

I believe orders can be placed by ringing in, but this is only for key workers who need connectivity.

It appears from what you say that your FTTP will be provided by Openreach, so you are going to be kinda hamstrung by that whom so ever you choose.

You could spend time whilst waiting ensuring everything is planned and ready for when it is time for your install.

Correct it's BT Openreach FTTP. I've been on ADSL2+ for years so a little longer won't do any harm smile

Yep, a few extra weeks will only add to the final satisfaction then. Good luck.

I’m in the same boat, just need to wait for BT to start taking orders.
I could go with zen but want the 900 service from BT.
