FTTP Install with Nokia ONT - Pictures Enclosed

[link to this post]

Hi all,

I had my FTTP install done on Friday and I was a stage 1 install. Below are pictures of the CSP and the new Nokia ONT Model G-01G-Q. The install was very quick even though I needed a dig team to repair a duct at the end of my driveway.

I ordered on Sunday 17th May, the first engineer was out on Tuesday 19th to rod and rope. A blockage was found and arranged a dig team. Roadworks appeared online within a couple of days with the planned work dates

The dig team arrived on Thursday 28th late afternoon. They couldn't find my duct and returned first thing Friday 29th. It was repaired and roped by lunchtime.

Engineer arrived on Friday 5th at 11 am and finished by 1 pm

I am really impressed with the process in the current climate.

Re the CSP photo - if that UG fibre cable is the new flat type (ROC it's called) then that cable gripper should be reversed to hold it in place properly.

Do you have the dimensions (H x W x D) of your new type CSP?

Yes. The 2 screws come out and the plastic piece gets reversed so the ridges are facing in the way, if it’s the flat type of cable.

Thank you for that

I have just had a look at it does seem to be the flat type of cable. I guess I could swap it around once the rain has stopped. To limited problems in the future.

Also the engineer has routed the cable going to the house through the wrong hole (should be the upper hole, lower hole is for copper) but more worryingly has not installed the rubber grommet, both of which are still in their holders in the lid. Best not try to fix that though.
