Actually have seen some areas get FTTP and then a VDSL2 cabinet appear later, and vice versa

The mixed technology approach is pretty common too i.e. FTTP for those that would otherwise be sub super fast

There seems to be no absolute rule if there ever was one.

Yup we are in the BDUK, vdsl2 cab and then fttp group, as half the properties on the cab couldn't get 30mbits plus.
