Replacing the splitter with an RJ11-BT converter?

[link to this post]

For VDSL2, would replacing the splitter with an BT-RJ11 connector be worth it to increase the SNR? I don't use landline. I suspect the open end of the splitter might introduce some noise to the line, or the capacitor could be keeping the modem's signal and retransmitting it with a small delay which might also be reducing the SNR? (I have no cabling problems, I just want to get the most out of the line.)

In the circumstances you say it shouldn't do any harm but unless there is something wrong with the splitter in probably won't make much difference at all.

It makes very little difference.

I've tried a few methods in the past.

AAISP used to sell an unfiltered lower faceplate with an RJ45 socket instead of the standard BT 431A.
You then use an RJ11 to RJ11 cable (or even better RJ45 to RJ11).

Might still be able to source 1 online.

You can buy a BT 431A to RJ11 patch cable.
This saves having to use a converter at all.

You can simply cut the RJ11 end off your current patch cable and punch straight in to the IDC connector on the rear your faceplate.
Like this. Here's it is from another angle.

I'm not the landlord; if I were, the last option seems to be the best.

My current DSL cable is a CAT 6, so switching to the cable you suggested would be downgrading.

I'll buy the connector. What could go wrong . . .
