There are three tubes, Blue, Orange, Green, each with 12 fibres in, I believe:

You get 12, 24, 36, 48, 72, 96, 144 variants

WOW MHC you are correct, I've just peeled off the Blue Orange & Green sheath and lots of minuit fibre strands in each. shocked

How the hell does that send ultra fast internet to our homes over a long distance when it looks only as thick as a sheet of paper. shocked

Have a read of a catalogue https://www.emtelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/2... from a fibre manufacturer.

Had looked at pic but not next post, but was about to say you need to strip off the coloured bit.

All down to the refractive index and how the fibre is created, i.e. glass at edge of each keeps light in, so clear transmission down the central part.

Be careful with the glass - you don't want to get a broken off piece stuck in your skin

Very interesting especially the colour code sequences, loosely reminds me of copper (e.g. blue, orange, green, brown, slate paired with white, red, black, yellow. Appreciate no pairing with fibre.)
