CBTs

Quick question - does a CBT contain a splitter so there is one fibre in, or does the feed contain one fibre for each port?

A follow up - what length of multi core fibre (or maximum length) is attached to the CBT? I’m wanting to work out the maximum distance from splitter to CBT.

That would not appear to be the case in reality. Many experiences of CBT to splitter being over a kilometre.

I would have thought everything upto the cbt was spliced, thus distance isn't an issue (in terms of cabling).

I don't doubt that at all.

The guy who I quoted goes on to say he's never worked on a rural FTTP deployment.

And of course what you aim for and what you end up with aren't always the same.

Is there CBT's that length now or are they made bespoke for such jobs? Or additional splicing?

The CBT's themselves are pre spliced with preset lengths of fibre, 350m (apparently) being the longest CBT.
The other end is spliced at the splitter node.

Extra splices involved or longer tail CBT's?

Sorry i meant up to the Fibre dp.. The cbt itself would obviously be pre assembled and thus pre spliced.

It's a bastardisation of fellow.

One could be correct. However squire, I don't use such language in my daily discourse so golly gosh I couldn't even endeavor to confirm or deny
