Hi All,
I'm at my wits end with slow FTTC (far away from cabinet) and 2 boys who are fighting over bandwidth.
Approx 4 weeks ago we noticed OpenReach contractors working in the junction duct on the main road which our housing close is off. They said they were clearing duct & pulling cables and all that needed doing was for BT engineers to splice cables and connect to houses.
Just wondering what is the likely time scale when I am likely to have fttp installed? I've registered on Openreach site and had an email approx 2 months ago saying they were in the 'planning' stage but not heard anything since. Is there any way I can find out a timescale online?
I am in the CH48 postcode - Caldy exchange.

Could be 4 weeks or 6 months or longer. Some see it happen very quickly, others see work done others getting it and are still waiting.

Unfortunately not.
www.openreach.com is pretty much the only place you can check but it doesn't give progress as such. It will tell you when it's available to order.

Some more than others.

We were told on 22nd March 2017 FTTP was coming and contractors started work back then.
We are still waiting now sadly.

Few (if any) have managed to achieve like Paul when it comes to getting dormant fttp kit enabled.

Yeah I just stuck at it on a daily basis phoning the Chairman and CEO offices, my Local MP also did his part which got my foot in the door.
It got to a point where their helpdesk staff new my voice LOL
So you just need to keep on at them on a daily basis and let them know you are not going anywhere, but always remain calm and be polite but firm.

You were glad, so were we or I would still be on the phone and sending emails with photos of the hardware to them LOL
I did at one point think that it would never get enabled, but glad it did.

They could try sending a direct message to their Twitter Account I do that for people near me, where a database error needs correcting, plans, dates etc, I have always got a response from them where most have helped.
