I have noticed since living here houses at the bottom of the road to midway (80 houses on the street) have a different Openreach grey box on the house compared to mine and the others at the top. A wider and thicker box compared to mine which is a standard Openreach copper cover but thought nothing of it.
It seems the bottom half of the street does have FTTP yet us at the top are on copper. We're the furthest away from the cab at the bottom of the road (about 350m).
Our houses were the last to be finished on the development. Ironically there is a cabinet at the top of the road about 70m from my house but we're not connected to it.
Any idea why Openreach stopped half way up the street?
I have always wondered how I manage to get near enough full line speed on FTTC at 350m. Crosstalk must be incredibly low!
