Migration Question

[link to this post]

I am currently on a 'wires only' FTTC 80/20 contract. My monthly usage has increased and I am considering a move to an ISP that offers unlimited usage. My present connection is on BT backhaul and it has an allocated PSTN number (this is to stop over enthusiastic engineers from hijacking the line).

If I migrate to another ISP and enter into a phone plus BB contract would this migration require additional work (such as a new phone line)? I cannot seem to get a straight answer from 2 ISPs that I have contacted.

If you use the migration process you will not need a new ( additional) line connected .

From what you have written (usage limits, and BT number but no calls) I conclude you are with AAISP. You should just be able to migrate to any other ISP provinding FTTC service using that BT number that identifies your line.

Any mention of the line like the original poster did is going to confuse prospective ISP

Order online and use the address and phone number you have for the details

Thanks all. That is what I hoped would be the case.
