CityFiber\Vodafone Gigafast Dead Zone

[link to this post]

I have been looking forward to joining CF since they cabled my area but I seem to be in a "dead zone" of sorts.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/8H7GHRXH1FKB86uv8

I have made a map of active areas around me and the red area has had the streets cabled but the service can not be ordered.

The green areas had the streets cabled around the same time as the red area but the service can be ordered.

Any clues as to what could be stopping the service going live in the red area?

Had noticed this gap, could be fibre has been run but a problem found and thus needs a re-dig to fix.

CF (well their build contractors) did a lot of remedial works around my area (Coventry) after the initial network build before it was all up and running.
Keep an eye on one.network for any current or upcoming CF related roadworks in your area or even slightly wider afield - they usually have a short description of what the work consists of, which is helpful in pointing you in the right direction.

Edited to add an example of one.network CF related work notification.

In our county the spine is built to serve the county buildings as that is the anchor tenant. Then they can server other premises within reach of the spine. I see there is a school and library a little below the area and a community centre a little to the left - it is possible these are the "end" of the line for the anchor tenant and therefore the area in red may just be out of reach of the spine. If the council are the anchor tenant then you might want to ask their broadband team what the plans were and if you are out of reach of the network.

My street is cabled and so are all the surrounding streets.

Oundle road has fibre ready to order on one side of the road but no the other and along with the streets off that side the road, including mine.

On the new news article posted by TBB for Peterborough shows a map of active areas and as mentioned by MR S there is an odd block of properties that can not get it yet. This block is the North side of Oundle Road from Swain Court to the left of ARU building and all the way down to 1 Oundle Road and including the 2 side streets of George Street and Jubilee Street.

Something odd is going on with the BT ADSL Checker.

Vodafone went from saying they can give me 69Mbps to they cant provide to my address at all..

I went and took a look at the BT ADSL checker and sure enough the FTTC speed section has gone.

I started checking other hoses on my street and some get a speed estimate and others dont.

All are served by cab 7 in Peterborough

I thought it might have been a capacity issue but maybe not since some houses get a speed estimate

I have had a look at some post codes again and there is a ... slight change in who can get it but not much.

Odd that they have added a few houses between swain court and jubilee street and thats it.
