Cutting into Fibre Optic line

I currently only have access to boring old slow as a snail adsl2+.
However 100 yards away at the junction of my road and a main road Fibre Optic cable runs right past underground, I saw the team of Bt Openreach engineers fitting it all a year or so ago.
Question: can't my line and those of my neighbours within the cul-de-sac be joined/connected to this Fibre Optic cable to give us all FTTC or would a new cabinet be required.

Wish it was that easy. I have a pole and manhole right at the side of my gate 5 yards from my front door. Last year I got really excited to see a team pulling fibre at the manhole but it was going to a cabinet a mile away to provide FTTC to another area no benefit to me

Wouldn't that be the point of connection for FTTP then?
All this BT star system makes no sense to me in 2020 they seem t be working to rules from the 1960s.

look on youtube or read any conspiracy theory book and the photos of Armstrong on the moon and all the shadows etc are impossible. a film made in a studio to make it look like usa beat russia to land on the moon
