BBU batteries, do I need to replace?

Have one of the Huawei ONTs with a BBU and it's been active since Jan '18

BBU starus is green but I understand they are Ni-Cad batteries in there, do I need to replace after a number of years or just leave them until the status indicates a fault?

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale) => Xilo (TT Wholesale due to O2 Wholesale closure) => Zen LLU =>> ZeN FTTP (100 Mbps down, 18 Mbps up)
Router: Fritzbox 7530

just as a heads up my bbu actually overheated and melted the battery housing so you may wish to remove it completely
OR dont fit BBUs anymore.....
