My DSL stats, underperforming?

[link to this post]

First time upgrade to 80/20 from a solid 40/10, any thoughts on these stats please? I thought I might get closer to 80 meg.

I've tried two different routers in the master socket test socket with the same result.

You're getting 63M, which is well within the "clean" range, albeit near the bottom.

Three or four years ago you might have got closer to the top. Unfortunately, FTTC has been a huge success and take-up is high. This results in large amounts of crosstalk between adjacent lines, which makes it more likely that you'll get the bottom of the range.

Vectoring would fix that, but it's only being rolled out in a handful of locations.

Thanks for the information, makes sense. The TT product is sold as "Fibre 65" so at least my connection speed fits that description quite well!

You might find it goes up over a week, starting in a fortnight or so, when G.INP kicks in. It can take a while to re-sync at 5dB, then only a few days for drops to 4dB and if you're lucky 3dB.

Thanks, I did wonder if the noise margin would come into play, I've generally had 6 dB on ADSL2+ but on 40/10 I was well over that of course as the maximum speed was being artificially capped.

I'm also not sure if the attenuation figure is correct as I plugged in an older TT router and the reading was higher.

Just to follow up, the speed has increased a bit: https://imgur.com/JjA9576

Noise margin is still at 6dB but latency is down to 5ms which suggests interleaving has been reduced/disabled a week after activation.

If it's an ECI cabinet then it will stay at 6dB.
