Thought it might be useful to others to outline the timings of the FTTP build for our property (even though every build is different of course). We were included as part of a retro build in an area of Calne that was built in 2005 (apart from our road from the 1940s which is the only one served by poles of around 1200 houses). A new spine was required for our build from the new headend (Nokia) at Chippenham, which is 11km away.
The checker finally updated today and I just placed an order with BT for Full Fibre 900.
Ours is a 1 stage install and the date we've been given is... 25th JANUARY!!! So not very happy about that after thinking I might just get it in time for Christmas if I was lucky.
Timelines of our build are below.
July 2020 - Survey of our road as well as sub-ducting work on the spine route. Various works to our splitter (WP 2)
18th August 2020 - Cable pulled from splitter to our pole, CBT and node installed on our pole but CBT coiled up and left disconnected.
Aug/September 2020 - Lots of work in other areas of the build and fibre cities guys jointing the spine along the route.
Mid October 2020 - CBT and node spliced. Spine works still ongoing (they kept finding track joints that had been missed from what I could see!)
Early November 2020 - Splitter spliced to the aggregation node (WP 1). No light to the node (more joints missed!)
17th November 2020 - CBT lit up and light loss testing completed (successfully I assume).
19th November 2020 - Audit and commissioning(?!) Some properties have been allocated to the wrong CBTs and need correcting.
10th December 2020 - Checker updated and FTTP available to order. No warning that it was coming or about to change (The day before it showed FTTPoD available at 330/30)
