I am awaiting an FTTP install to replace FTTC and scheduled for Wednesday 13th.

I finally spoke with OR this afternoon and was told that some work had already been cancelled such as "socket shifts". Upgrades may/maynot proceed and similarly new installs would be dependent on the property.

In my case, they were unsure of the status at present - and it will be confirmed on Monday. My offer to do the internals has been taken seriously and escalated however, the order management team could not give a definite yes/no - similarly it will be decided by Monday.

Ca I ask how you contacted Openreach please to check and what information you needed to give them?

I have an order for FTTP due to be installed next Friday via BT.

Through the Order Management Team I use - three way call, myself, BT Order Mgmt, OpenReach

You need to contact the service provider you placed the order with. You deal with them, and they deal with Openreach.

As you've previously said in other posts you already have a 70+meg connection, which i assume is stable. Therefore i would expect your order to be delayed until after 1st March.

If they say NO to me doing the internals, then I will cancel it. I have heard that some upgrade installs have happened yesterday and today. However, I am not willing to have a third party on the premises at present.

If they say it will be cancelled, then fine.

As of earlier this evening it is still showing as scheduled for Wednesday 13th.

I will however push for the voice migration from copper to CV.

I'd expect the call for a reschedule to be honest.

Once the virus is under control and you get your installation date confirmed, then i'm sure you could speak to the engineer on the day regarding doing the internals yourself. Speaking to your provider on the phone about it in advance most likely will not get through to the engineer who turns up on the day, plus you will be telling someone at your provider something they will probably have no knowledge of.

Ultimately you'll need to have a chat with whoever turns up on the day, tell them what you've done and let them know that you are happy to do x y z. As pointed out in other threads though, the overhead cable will need to go into a CSP at ground level first before entering your house, so the inside and outside cables can be spliced together.

Seeing as you already had an issue migrating the copper landline number to FTTP VOIP do you think it's wise to insist on another step.
You will be migrating from PSTN, to FTTC VOIP temporarily, then to FTTP VOIP.

That all likely wouldn't be automated. You aren't even taking an FTTC VOIP service.

Is the order with BT residential or BT Business?

Not a problem rescheduling - just need them to confirm it.

Overall, it would be nice and simple. Drop wire to same point as copper, down to ground. Internal through conduit, although it is basically a straight forward accessible run the conduit adds protection and will be much easier. From where that ends, again, straight down to the ground for splicing.

What is the difference between FTTC VoIP and FTTP VoIP? Surely, the bearer is irrelelevant?
