In my area (SWTDU cab 26) I have seen what appears to be a g.fast pod near my home.

My areas has no plans yet for further upgrades. So whats going on? Are they now using the shells to extend capacity?

I will get a pic on here of the pod in question. Just so you guys can take a look. but will do that 2moro

They are using similar shells to house small DSLAMs for added capacity

They use identical pods for VDSL2 expansion.
They also use the same pods for Subtended Head Ends though these will be rarer.

The VDSL2 Sidepods contain a Huawei MA5818 DSLAM which can actually do G.Fast but they contain VDSL2 line cards.

The G.Fast rollout is currently dead.

They haven't announced a single location since November 2018.
Any G Fast installed in 2019 was in areas already announced.
The rollout was officially paused in September 2019 to be reviewed in March 2020.
I'm not aware of any G.Fast pods installed at all in 2020.
