Sky FTTC with HG612 and Sky Hub SR203

Hi folks, so looking at setting up a HG612 with new line install at front of a property keeping the incoming line short as possible and then running Ethernet towards other side of property and connecting to Sky provided SR203.

I presume the setup would be same to using with ONT and just connect the Ethernet from HG612 to the WAN/LAN port on Sky Hub and it will pass the PPPoE along the dsl circuit?

Just to note, the DSLAM is ECI, the HG612 is running SP08 firmware, I can't see there being any issues, though correct me if I'm wrong.

As a side question, is it worth me matching vendors for ECI DSLAM?

It works the same way yes.
No changes required on the HG612.

Matching the modem and DSLAM chipset being best practice is an absolute myth.
Every chipset manufacturer has high end and budget chipsets.

What's best on 1 line won't be on another line.

Generally the higher end Broadcom chipsets perform better on both Huawei
and ECI cabinets, but that's not the case for every line.
