Hi All,
A friend of mine wants to move away from Virgin and is having trouble getting FTTC. ISPs only show ADSL and Virgin but no FTTC.
Codelook says "Fibre Street Cabinet 1: P42 FTTC Available from 25th May 2013, expanded 3rd September 2020 Phase 8a 2012"
Does anyone know what the issue is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go here and check your exact address. I don't see any FTTC when I look. This is the definitive source from Openreach.

That is the source from wholesale. The Openreach checker shows FTTC is available as do TBB maps - but as the other poster responded cabinet could be full.

So now I'm confused. Where is the OR checker?

So now I'm confused. Where is the OR checker? Openreach:
https://www.openreach.com/#checkavailability
this says "Superfast Fibre is available" when I pick any address on that road.
Wholesale checker:
https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com
which shows no FTTC available, but reports cabinet 42.
I conclude "cabinet is full".

Ah, yes. I still think the BT checker is better as it tells you what's actually available. OTOH I'd have expected the BT check to show FTTC available (with predicted speeds) but "wait list" suggesting, as you say, a full cabinet. Which it ought not to be if its not long expanded.

Looks like it's not available for BT wholesale. Sky shows available so seems to be wholesale blocking availability.
