They do look like FTTP CBT's at the top and a creep preventer lower down but the pic isn't the best so its hard to say for sure.

Oh, it must be, just literally received an email from Openreach that Ultrafast is now available.

Ordered the BT Fibre 900 package!

I had no idea that my area would get FTTP, thought it would have been a few years.

1st of April install, excited!

Luckier than me! OR checker says 1Gbps available but BT will only allow me to order 300Mbps, whereas a neighbour has ordered 900Mbps!

Can I ask what the going rate is these days? I'm paying £57, and am half way through a two year contract

For what speed?

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/packages/fttp-broadband

900M from BT is £60, discounted to £50 for online sales if you follow the right link; renewals may need to phone to haggle. Zen is £63, guaranteed no price rises.

Talktalk will do you 500M for £40, 150M for £35. ("Future Fibre" = Openreach FTTP)

Sky will also do you 150M for £35.

Other providers and speeds are available.

Hello candlerb

My apologies - I should have quoted the post I was replying to, rather than just replying to it. If I had done so then the context of the question I asked might have made my query clearer. I am sorry for confusing you.

Yes, I do know that various pricing may be quoted on various links by various providers for various services. For the avoidance of doubt, I was asking about actual real-world, recent experience of BT gigabit pricing from someone who has just signed up.

And here's a suggestion - let's all try to be a bit understanding towards one another. Everyone will benefit that way, and this forum might become a nicer place to be.

Have a great weekend.

Thought I would update,

Install didn’t happen today, openreach didn’t want to go on the extension roof to put the fibre upstairs, his other method was downstairs bedroom but the cable (from the telephone pole) would have been way too low.

Now I need to re arrange appointment, Now I’m getting someone else to go on the roof to do the clamping and they will drill from the inside.

What a shambles :/.
